Switching Your Mental State with Knock It! Pro

Field sales can be a tough job, some days might seem like everything's going against you. Don't fret as it doesn't have to be this way. By shifting your mindset, you can harness better control of your situation than you imagine. Let's start by jotting down the reasons why you think you haven't achieved specific accomplishments.

Ask yourself this – could you have better control over overcoming these hurdles? Sure, there can be external hurdles that hit us occasionally, but in reality, this is seldom the case. You hold the power to change your trajectory if you make the effort.

In relation to what's on your list of hurdles, altering the way you approach each day could positively impact your life and progress in the field.

Craft a Morning Routine

Kickstart your day with a simple accomplishment, such as making your bed. This simple act can already place you in a productive mindset. For breakfast, choose something that can fuel you with sustained energy throughout the day. Avoid sugar-laden or heavy carb meals. Consider a protein shake or hearty eggs, meat, and fruit for balanced protein and fiber nourishment. Review a book that encourages and motivates you for about 15 minutes.

Whether a self-help book, business book or a spiritual book - find one that can offer perspective to your needs. If you're pressed for time in the morning, go for an audiobook instead. Listen to it while driving or walking to work or during lulls in between doors or moving to new neighborhoods.

Prioritize Your Day

Take some time each day to identify tasks that need to be completed. Label each task as "urgent," "important," or "should happen but not a priority." It's typical for us to do the things we feel like doing first, but that's not an efficient way to spend time. Often, urgent or important tasks get sidetracked for things that "should happen but not a priority." Completing the wrong tasks first can lead to a negative mindset because it directly ties with failing to accomplish what needs to get done.

When people habitually fail to complete their priorities, they tend to do what they want to do instead of what needs to be done. Grafting the mentality and habit of working on what needs to be done first, can shift your mindset towards becoming more capable and successful.

Express Gratitude

Download a gratitude app or buy a simple journal. At the end of your day, jot down 3 positive things that happened. Make this a habit of positive reflection and avoid mentioning the negatives. People usually fret over negative instances, even if those instances are trivial.

Self-care Matters

This doesn't need an extensive explanation – eat well and get plenty of sleep. The standard requirement for adults is between 6 and 8 hours of sleep - find what your body needs and don’t deprive yourself of that. Start focusing on one or two of these suggestions and commit to doing them for three weeks. Once you are in the habit of doing them, revisit this post and consider adding another into your routine. For the habits you wish to cultivate, set a recurring alarm on your phone as a constant reminder to complete those tasks. At the end of the three weeks, evaluate how those changes have influenced your day-to-day life to motivate you to continue adding in other positive habits.
